Financial Support, Education and Mentorship for Farmers

Fund-a-Farmer Grants
Each autumn FACT opens up another round of Fund-A-Farmer grants to support high welfare, humane, pasture based livestock and poultry farmers. Eligible projects are awarded to farmers transitioning away from confinement, improving pastures and generally improving the well being of their food animals. Applications will open up October 10, 2024. Sign up for our newsletter to be kept up to date!

Conference and Workshop Scholarships
As funding allows, FACT awards scholarships of up to $400 for livestock and poultry farmers to attend educational events – including virtual events – to learn knowledge, skills and best practices related to humane animal management, business and farm finance, and/or value-added production processes (photo credit Carolina Meat Conference).

Mentorship Program
FACT’s mentorship program is for all livestock and poultry farmers seeking personalized guidance from an experienced farmer on business strategies and management practices. It is designed for farmers who wish to raise their animals on pasture using sustainable, humane practices.

September through mid April FACT offers free webinars on a variety of topics relevant to humane animal production.
