Invest in Farmers who are Raising Their Animals Right

Goats on pasture at Action Jackson Farms

“The portable fence line feeders (funded by FACT) will enable our goats to access more of our acreage…The animals will have access to clean water, adequate shelter…,, and plenty of forage. This practice will help us improve our soil while reducing overcrowding and stress in our herd.”

~ Fatima Jackson, Action Jackson Farms in Salvisa, Kentucky, a 2023 Fund-a-Farmer Grant Recipient.

This spring we are asking for your support to help farmers in the US like Fatima who are raising their animals right.

Animal agriculture in the US is dominated by the factory farming industry which is energy intensive and harmful to animals and humans. Often the problems of our current industrial system are carefully hidden with the negative experiences and consequences dismissed or spun.

That’s why FACT invests in farmers who are raising their livestock humanely. You can support our efforts by making a donation to FACT’s Spring Appeal. This appeal will directly underwrite our animal welfare-focused work that helps farmers in good times and bad times.

From the pasture-based first-generation poultry farmer in North Carolina to the multigenerational, diversified pastured operation in Iowa, FACT supports these farmers through grants, scholarships, webinars and mentorship opportunities.

This March our Fund-a-Farmer grant program awarded an incredible 87 grants, representing our largest cohort ever. We were able to distribute over $253,000 to farmers from Hawaii to Maine, and many places in between.

In a recent blog post you can see FACT’s work in action with stories from two of our 2022 grant recipients: Malachi Muhammad from The Nation’s Farm in Georgia, and Filipa Rodrigues from Saudade Farms in New York. Both are beginning farmers and with their grant from FACT, they were able to bring their pastures back to life, build healthy soil, and rotationally graze their animals. We’re excited to see what the future holds for both of these new farmers!

This impact is only made possible thanks to the generous and dedicated support from our funders and supporters. We are in this for the long haul, and we could not do it without you!

Please support farmers today by making a gift of $42, $110, $275, or any amount that is meaningful to you so that FACT can continue to grow our Humane Farming Program and partner with and invest in humane farmers and ranchers throughout the country.
