1. Promote Humane Farming Practices
Since 2012, FACT’s Humane Farming Program has improved the lives of more than two million livestock and poultry. FACT provides online short courses, webinars, mentorship, and direct funding to farmers, helping them adopt humane practices. Your donations support these efforts, continuing to improve the welfare of more and more farm animals.
2. Advocate for Policy Change
FACT works on policy campaigns and petitions to create lasting change in animal welfare and food safety. Last year, thanks to our efforts, the FDA moved forward with banning the cancer-causing drug carbadox, which is given to pigs and ends up in our pork products. “The introduction of mobile shelters will transform our farm's operations and directly benefit the welfare of our animals….This project is key to achieving our vision of a farm where animals and the environment coexist in a mutually beneficial relationship.” Matt from Wild Texan Farm was awarded a Fund-a-Farmer grant this year to purchase portable electric netting and materials to build mobile shelters for rotationally grazing pigs, sheep, and laying hens on pasture.
