A Holiday Message from FACT

This year was FACT’s 40th Anniversary and throughout 2022 we have been highlighting our accomplishments and the impact it has had on animals raised for food. This has included:

A celebratory farm-to-table dinner at Duke’s Alehouse & Kitchen in Crystal Lake, Illinois in early October.
However, we could not have achieved everything we have done over the last 40 years without our supporter’s loyalty to our mission and belief in our work. This holiday season, I am writing to ask for your support so that the impact of our work will continue to grow.
Don and Corrine on a mentorship visit
At FACT we strive to provide all farmers with the knowledge they need to farm humanely. One great example is Don and Corrine who are participants in FACT’s mentorship program. This year, Don came as a potential mentor with decades of knowledge and an itch to help a new and beginning farmer combat climate change through smart agricultural practices. Corrine came to FACT’s program as a mentee, wanting guidance as she started her farm business, and help with farming without taking from the land.
What neither Don or Corrine realized was how strong of a bond they would create in 10 short months of mentorship and how much they would learn from one another. So far, they have presented at conferences and have started a non-profit known as the South Carolina Regenerative Livestock Producer Network. Corrine and Don have every intention of continuing their newfound friendship well past the 2022 FACT mentorship program and plan on working together for years to come. FACT’s mentorship team couldn’t be happier.
As well as supporting humane farmers, FACT is committed to ensuring that our food is safe and healthy – both for the workers who produce it and the people who eat it. FACT’s Safe and Healthy Food Program connects the dots between farm practices, food safety, and the ability to treat diseases in people and farm animals.
